Loren Fjellanger

Loren Fjellanger, 68, of Dell Rapids, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at his home of natural causes. His funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 in the United Methodist Church of Dell Rapids. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 15, 2024 with the family present from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Kahler-Brende Funeral Home.

Loren was born on May 8, 1955 in Sioux Falls, SD, the son of C. Leonard and Jeanette (Stykel) Fjellanger. He grew up on the family farm 3 miles North of Sherman and attended country school until he was 10 years old. He then moved with his family into Dell Rapids where Loren attended school. After school he worked doing horse chores for Shorty Wyland. Loren lived in his own apartment up until the time of his death.

Loren enjoyed making his rounds on his route through Dell Rapids where he would stop and visit with his various friends. He mowed yards, shoveled snow and most recently took care of the mail for the girls at the quilt shoppe. He enjoyed his various coffee spots, bowling and going out to eat.  He was a member of the Methodist Church in Dell Rapids.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his five brothers, Clarence, Gordon, Jon and two in infancy, a brother-in-law, Glenn Braken,  a sister-in-law, Nancy Fjellanger and a nephew and niece in infancy.

He is survived by his brother, Dennis (Terri) Fjellanger of Dell Rapids; his sisters, Carol Braken of Santa Ana, CA, Judy (Larry) Baden of Sioux Falls and Phyllis (David) Smith of Jasper, MN; his many nieces, nephews and friends.
