Nancy L. Dunlap

Nancy L. Dunlap, 80, of Sioux Falls, formerly of Dell Rapids, SD, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2024 at Dow Rummel Village in Sioux Falls. Nancy’s wishes were for no service to be held, however, it would be greatly appreciated for anyone to donate to an animal rescue in her name.

Nancy was born in Milwaukee, WI to Walter and Gladys Buchmann. Nancy  grew up with one brother, Gerald Buchmann (deceased). Together, they all enjoyed spending time at the family cottage in Manitowish Waters, WI. In 1964; she married John L Dunlap Sr (deceased) and shared that joy of “up north” with him &  their 3 children & fur babies. In 1985, John and Nancy relocated from Wisconsin to Dell Rapids, SD and later retired to Sioux Falls. 

Throughout life Nancy enjoyed bowling,  gardening, sewing, volunteering, and relaxing in the sun. She grew up with a love of animals and always treated the family pets as valuable members and she also passed this love of animals onto all 3 of her children. If a dog passed Nancy’s path, she wanted to meet it. 

Nancy is survived by her children Kristine Tamblingson (Steve), John Dunlap Jr, Diana Dunlap; three grandchildren: Nikole, Allyssa & Anthony and two great-grandchildren; Dalton & Hudson.
