Kristie (Krempges) Theesfeld Obituary

Kristie (Krempges) Theesfeld, 56, of Sioux Falls passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 of natural causes. Her Memorial Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 20, 2018 in the Cathedral of St. Joseph, Sioux Falls. Visitation with the family present will be from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. with a Christian Wake Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at Kahler Funeral Home.

Kristie  was born January 4, 1962 in Dell Rapids, SD to Edward and Phillis (Arionus) Krempges. She graduated from the University of South Dakota with a Bachelor of Arts degree.  During that time, she had two daughters, Lisa and Alexis.

Upon graduation, Kristie worked as an educator, teaching English and German. In 1987, Kristie moved to Sioux Falls and began working at Citibank, where she would go on to have a 30 year career. Over the years she spent time giving back as a Lector, Catechism Instructor and by giving to the United Way.

On August 17, 1992 Kristie was united in marriage with Joe Theesfeld. Together they enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching Nascar races.

Kristie found treasure in her Catholic faith and her family. She was known for baking pie and cookies for family gatherings, praying for countless people and intentions and her cheerful disposition. Kristie loved spoiling her grandchildren with treats and movie nights, and teaching them about their faith. She was an avid New York Rangers hockey fan, and was always up for a round of cards or dice.

Kristie is survived by her children, Lisa (Troy) Le Van, Alexis (William) Kolb; stepchildren, Casey (Jeremy) Butterfield and Michael Theesfeld; grandchildren, James McAthie, Kate and John Kolb; siblings, Jean Ann (Doug) Feuerhelm, Kathy Davis, Dan (Moe) Krempges, Craig Krempges, Bernie (Julie) Krempges, and Denis Krempges.

She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Phillis Krempges; husband, Joe Theesfeld; brothers John and Kelly; sisters-in-law, Penny Krempges and Sherry Dailey; brother-in-law Dan Davis; nephew, Joshua Krempges; great niece, Mariana Krempges; and foster sister, Angie Metli.
