Mildred Sayler Obituary

Mildred Timmons Sayler, 95, of Sioux Falls passed away peacefully on Monday, January 22, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Center in Sioux Falls. To honor Mildred’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Inurnment will take place beside Jim in Sunset Memorial Veterans Garden in Montana during private family services.

Mildred was born July 23, 1922 in Carbon County at the family homestead two miles north of Fromberg, MT, to Mark and Bertha (Thatcher) Timmons. She graduated from Bromberg High School, Billings Business College and attended Brigham Young University in 1960.

In 1942, She married James Sayler of Bridger. To this union were born a son, James Mack, and two daughters, Judith Marilyn and Cristine Adeline. She worked for the Department of the Interior in Billings and at Fort Smith, MT for 25 years retiring to Billings with Jim in 1987. During retirement she took part in various local volunteer projects.

Mildred is survived by a daughter, Judith Redden (Dennis), four grandchildren, Laura Miller, Julie Jones, Penny Baker and Keith Frickel (Shannon); nine great-grandchildren, Jureen Jones, Jorel Miller, Ashleigh, Alyssa, Zachary and Amber Baker, Levi, Levinz and Lukas Flinn; and three great-great-grandchildren, Hadley Hernandez, Levaya Flinn and Dean Huffman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Edith Sekora; brothers, Cyrus Timmons an Emory Timmons; husband, James; son, James Mack Sayler; daughter, Cristine (Sayler Frickel) Eichenauer; sons-in-law, Larry Flinn and Scott Eichenauer and grandson, Larry Flinn Jr.

Should friends desire, memorials may be directed to the Intermountain Children’s Home, 500 Lamborn, Helena, Montana 59601, in Mildred’s name.
