My parents were so fond of your parents over the many years that they stayed in touch. You probably remember when my dad would pile junk in front of your house if we visited and you were not home. My mom spoke often over the years about your activities as they stayed in touch with your parents. We are so sorry for your loss. I am afraid I won't make it to the funeral but I will be sending a memorial for your dad. Know that I am praying for you as you go through this day.

Our deepest sympathy to Elaine and all of Vernon's family. We lived not to far from your farm in the early 1960's and I remember visiting your farm. Vernon was always full of stories and he and Elaine were very good to my younger parents (Leroy and JoAnne). Enjoy the wonderful memories and take care of each other.

They were so kind to our family with many times together in their home, . I was privileged to experience Vern's kind gentle ways along with Elaine's working for them while growing up and later as a neighbors after Judy and I were married.. We are very grateful and feel blessed from the gift of Vern and Elaine in our lives.

Elaine, Ray, Roberta, Sharon, and families,
Thinking of you and extending our sincere sympathy with the great loss of your husband, father, and grandfather. Vern was one "special " guy and so easy to visit with. We remember him talking about going to the school of "hard knocks" where nothing in life was easy in his day and lots of physical labor was necessary.
