Aaron J. Van Ballegooyen

Aaron J. Van Ballegooyen, 29, of Sioux Falls, formerly of Dell Rapids, passed away unexpectedly on April 16, 2024. Visitation with the family present will be from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Kahler-Brende Funeral Home with a time of sharing beginning at 3:00 p.m. A gathering of friends and family for a time of food and fellowship will follow at Norby's immediately following the time of sharing.

Aaron was born on February 16, 1995 in Canton, SD, the second son of Joe and Melone (Maxson) Van Ballegooyen. At a young age he moved with his family to Dell Rapids. He grew up and attended school in Dell Rapids graduating in 2013. After high school Aaron started working as a welder for DCT in Dell Rapids where he continued to work until the time of his death.

He loved darts, fishing and ice fishing, all types of music and loved to lift people up when they were down. He always had a grin on his face and had a great sense of humor. He had many friends and touched the lives of everyone he met. He was truly loved by everyone.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandpa, David Maxson.

Aaron is survived by his father, Joe Van Ballegooyen of St.Louis, MO; his mother, Mel Van Ballegooyen of Pipestone, MN; his brothers, Eric of Junction City, KS and Eric’s daughter, Sofi and his brother, Devin (Hannah) of Aurora, SD; his paternal grandparents, Harv and MaryLee of Alcester, SD and maternal grandma, Ruth Ann Maxson of Storm Lake, IA; his many uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family and many friends.
