Allen's Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at St. Mary Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at noon on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 with the family present from 5:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. and a Chrisitan Wake service beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Kahler Funeral Home.

Allen L. Price was born on September 21, 1923 at Hartford, SD, the son of William and Lucy (Tvedt) Price. He grew up in the Hartford and Humboldt area and attended a country school through the eighth grade. He worked with his dad on the farm until 1943 when he came to the Dell Rapids area to work on the Peters farm. He married Lucille Peters on October 10, 1959 in Dell Rapids. They made their home on the farm until they retired from farming in 1991. They then moved to their home near Dell Rapids and he helped David on the farm. Lucille passed away in 1996. Allen became a resident of Friendship Village in 2000 and a resident of Dells Nursing and Rehab Center in March of 2013.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends, farm life and all his pet animals, playing cards and telling stories. He had a love for IH tractors that he passed on to his son and grandson. His smile and sense of humor will be missed by many.

Allen passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at the Dells Nursing and Rehab Center. He was 90 and preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, David (Julie) Price of Dell Rapids; his granddaughter, Holly (Zach) Overcashier of Farmington, MN; his grandson, Andy (Maggie) Price of Dell Rapids; his great granddaughter, Paityn; his brother, Ray (Sadie) Price of Colton; his sister-in-law, Dolores Price of Bellevue, NE; special friend and roommate, Loren Penning.
