Caleb G. Michel

Caleb Michel, 35,  passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family and friends. His Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2025 in St. Mary Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 23, 2025 in St. Mary Catholic Church. The Christian Wake Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. followed by a Catholic Order of Foresters Rosary.

Caleb Glenn Michel was born on December 15, 1989 in Dell Rapids, SD, the son of Kevin and Connie. He was raised in Dell Rapids and attended school at St. Mary Catholic Schools. He graduated in 2008. He started working at the sale barn at Madison Livestock when he was in Jr. High and continued to work there when he could until it closed. He attended Dakota State in Madison until moving to Mitchell to finish his degree at Mitchell Technical Institute. He started working as a tech for Kibble Implement until becoming a salesman. He was still working at Kibble at the time of his death.

He married Lacey Knopf on June 24, 2023 and the couple made their home in Dell Rapids.

Caleb had many joys in life, farming, his cattle, hunting, fishing and being a joker. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed having a great time. He liked buying things on-line and bidding on on-line auctions. He loved his Minnesota Twins, Minnesota Vikings and SDSU Jackrabbits. He was very thoughtful and was intentional in his giving. He made friends easy and they all became like family to him.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Glenn Michel and Francis and Donna Foster.

Caleb is survived by his wife, Lacey of Dell Rapids; his mother, Connie (Mike) Melloon of Lake Madison; his father, Kevin Michel of Dell Rapids; his grandmother, Connie Michel of Dell Rapids; his brother, Josh (Tonya) Pitts of Chester; his sister, Nicole (Terrill) Reiners of WA; his in-laws, Jeff and Lisa Dring of Dell Rapids; his brothers-in-law, Patrick Knopf (Amanda Henning) of Brandon and Lucas Knopf of Sioux Falls; his sister-in-law, Lindy (Joseph) Bell of Sioux Falls; his four legged children, Gunner and Pepper; his many aunts, uncles, cousins extended family and numerous friends.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Avera Prairie Center 2nd Floor, 1000 E 23rd St, Sioux Falls, SD 57105
