Donna Lee Boyd, 93, of Sioux Falls, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Avera Prince of Peace. Her funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 5, 2025 in the Baltic Lutheran Church followed by a lunch in the church hall. Interment will be in the East Nidaros Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the start of the service.
Donna Lee Brende was born on August 25, 1932 at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the daughter of Ingemar and Ilene (Bruaas) Brende. She grew up in Baltic, South Dakota and graduated from Baltic High School in 1950. She married Clyde Edwin Boyd on October 16, 1954 at Baltic Lutheran Church. The couple lived in Sioux Falls until moving to Brentwood, California in 1961. Clyde was a banker with California Federal Savings in Beverly Hills. Donna Lee was a student and employed at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She and Clyde had season tickets to football and basketball games during the “Wooden Years”. Donna Lee was later with Hillcrest Country Club of Beverly Hills, California as Administrative Assistant to the General Manager for 22 years, retiring in 1994. She vacationed with Clyde in Hawaii twice a year. Clyde passed away on November 23, 1999. Donna Lee moved back to Sioux Falls, SD in 2000. Donna Lee cherished the loving relationship she had with her husband for 45 years. She enjoyed the countless hours throughout her life she spent with family members and close friends in South Dakota as well as California.
Donna Lee is a member of the Baltic Lutheran Church and a P.E.O. Sisterhood member where she held many offices including President.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother-in-law, Lyle Benjamin, her sister and best friend, Betty Jean Benjamin.
