Harrison C. Schreurs

Harrison Cruz Schreurs, 27, of Lincoln, Nebraska, died unexpectedly in a motor vehicle accident on January 28, 2026. Harrison's Memorial Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026 in St. Rosa Lima Parish in Garretson, SD with Fr. Kevin O’Dell as celebrant. The wake service will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2026 at St. Rose of Lima Parish in Garretson, SD. 

Harrison Cruz Schreurs, born July 28, 1998, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Harrison was born and baptized in Sioux Falls and spent his childhood in Baltic, South Dakota, where he developed a strong work ethic helping his father, brother, and sister on the family pig farm. He loved sports and spent many years playing football and basketball for teams in Dell Rapids, South Dakota.

He was relocated to Lincoln, Nebraska, where he graduated from Pius X High School. Harrison went on to earn a degree in Business Management from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. As a young adult, he dedicated himself to helping others, working as a recovery advocate at The Bridge Behavioral Health Center in Lincoln. Both colleagues and patients spoke of his remarkable ability to support those struggling with anxiety, addiction, and mental or behavioral health challenges. Many credited Harrison with saving lives through his compassion and willingness to shoulder the burdens of others.

Harrison is survived by his mother, Jennifer, and his girlfriend, Lindsey, both of Lincoln, Nebraska. He is especially missed by his father, John, and Antje Schreurs of Baltic, South Dakota. He is also survived by his brother and sister, John John and Shaylea Schreurs; his grandfathers, Duane Schreurs and Stephen Padilla; his grandmother, Mary Hernandez; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Shirley Schreurs; his aunts, Kim Schreurs and Kathy Baumberger; his uncle, Russ Sweeney; and his cousins, Matt Sweeney and Phillip Baumberger.
