James A. Cool

James A. Cool, 48, of Dell Rapids, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. His Memorial Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 in the United Methodist Church in Dell Rapids. Visitation with the family present will be on Monday, February 3, 2025 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Kahler-Brende Funeral Home.

James Andrew Cool was born on May 25, 1976 at Richmond, Indiana, the son of Thomas and Sharon (Manley) Cool. At a young age he moved with his family to Sioux Falls where he grew up and attended school. He graduated from O’Gorman High School in 1994. During high school he was involved in the Theater Program. He worked at Bagel Boy while in high school and for a period after high school until working at Gateway. He then went to work for YRC Freight.  He moved to Dell Rapids in 2024.

James enjoyed cooking, writing poetry and spending time with his children and family. He had a fun sense of humor and loved being sarcastic.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents.

James is survived by his parents, Thomas and Sharon Cool of Sioux Falls; his children, William Cool of Sioux Falls, Christian Cool of Beresford, Ivy Cool of Sioux Falls and Elias Cool of Sioux Falls; his grandchildren, Evelyn Jo Cool and Michael James Cool; his brothers, Thomas Cool of Newberry, MI and Robert Cool of Sioux Falls and his girlfriend, Gennifer Randolph and her daughter, Syanne Randolph of Dell Rapids.
