Janice E. Larson, 66, of Crooks, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2015 at her home after a short illness. Visitation with the family present will be from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2015.  A prayer service will begin at 7: 00 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home West Chapel in Sioux Falls, SD.  A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Volga Lutheran Cemetery, Volga, SD.

Janice Eileen Witt was born on July 2, 1948, the daughter of Harold and Vera (Bertelsen) Witt at Estherville, IA. As a young child she moved with her family to Sioux Falls and then Rapid City. She attended elementary school in Rapid City before moving back to Sioux Falls. She attended Whittier Jr. High School and Washington High School.     After high school she was a waitress. She married Eugene Larson on March 21, 1975 at Madison, SD. The couple made their home on Lake Brandt and then moved to Baltic.  They later bought an acreage near Humboldt before moving into their home in Crooks in 1987. She remained there until the time of her death.

Janice was an avid Nascar fan and Green Bay Packers fan. She loved spending summers in her camper around the lake and riding the atv. She loved to spoil her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Steven and Harvey.

She is survived by her husband, Eugene Larson of Crooks; her sons, Jerry (Donna) of Valley Springs and Chad (Carolyn) of Slayton, MN; her daughters, Kathy (Roy) Keiser of Arlington and Nancy (Todd) Peterson of Sioux Falls; her 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; her brothers, Harold Witt, Charles Witt and Wendell Witt and her sisters, Lola Cleary, Katharine Hodson, Susan Huckabone and Nancy Walsh.
