Dear Aunt Joan and Family,
We're so sad that Uncle John has passed. I think about him all the time.
I'm sure he's tearing up the tennis courts in Heaven and I'm sure he's
singing in the angel choir! We'll always remember his lovely smile and
positive attitude!
Take good care.
Our sympathy to you all,
Jan, Steve, Geoff, & Joan and Brandon (Hare)

Rasmusson Family: Such a sense of loss at the passing of John. I've been proud to say I am from Dell Rapids over the years that I've been gone, in large part because of men like John. Grace and peace to you as you lay a good man to rest.

I met John when I joined the library board in 2013. He was a most genuine, friendly and patient person! I am better to have known him. He had a passion for life and it showed in his work on the library board where he was instrumental in moving the fundraising and building project along. I just talked to him on Memorial Day and he talked about how happy he was with how the library turned out and how proud he was to have been a part of it. On behalf of the board of trustees, I offer our sincerest condolences on John's passing and hope that your family is comforted by the memories of a life well lived.

I was saddened to hear of John's passing. Growing up in the Lutheran Church of Dell Rapids I remember John as a very kind man who was an integral part of the faith community and the Dell Rapids Community as a whole. I always appreciated his pleasant disposition and fondly recall his friendly greetings and conversations at Church functions.

My condolences to Joan, Peter, Pam, Laurie and the rest of the Rasmussen family.

I was privileged to know John as a part of the SD telephone industry and as a fellow tennis player at Woodlake. I was there the night he took the tumble. I will keep him and the Rasmussen family in my prayers. My condolences to you Peter and your family.

My sympathy to all the family. I just visited with John on Monday when he was in Dells and commented on how good he looked, as I hadn't seen him for some time.
He will be missed. I'm sorry that I am unable to attend the service as I will be in Champlain with family.

Joan and family - I'm very deeply saddened by John's loss. John taught me - and a lot of other young men in the Dell Rapids - how to handle any situation with dignity, compassion, respect and class. He lived his life as such that all of heaven would say, "this is a man." Rest in peace, my friend.
