Judi A. Klein

Judi Klein, 74, of Dell Rapids, passed away on Monday, November 23, 2020 at the Dells Nursing and Rehab Center. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be private for immediate family only. A memorial mass for the public will be held on Saturday, DECEMBER 5, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary Catholic Church with fellowship to follow in the church hall.

Judi Goergen was born on June 11, 1946 at Granville, IA, the daughter of Joseph and Martha (Stoffel) Goergen. She grew up in Granville and attended school at Spalding Catholic graduating in 1964. She attended St. Joseph Nursing School in Mitchell, SD. She started working in Luverne, MN until she married Gerald Klein. The couple was married on December 29, 1966 in Granville, IA. They moved to a farm near Dell Rapids until moving into Dell Rapids in 1986.

Judi was a nurse, and then later worked as a custodian for St. Mary School for over 22 years. She then worked a couple years at Dells Nursing and Rehab until she retired. Her favorite job, however, was being a housewife, raising her children with Jerry, and now getting to watch their grandchildren grow up.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Catholic Order of Foresters, and was involved with foster care with the Children’s Home Society for many years. She enjoyed sewing, walking, camping and working with children. She had a passion for teaching children about God and how to be led by Him. Judi had the most kind, generous heart and was always putting others first and wanting to help anyone in need. She was well-known for keeping everyone in her prayers.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry, of Dell Rapids and her children; Joe (Nici) Klein of White, SD; Jeff (Sara) Klein of Wichita Falls, TX; Jason (Paula) Klein of Marshall, MN; Josh (Pam) Klein of Highlands Ranch, CO; Julie (Paul) Neisius of Hanley Falls, MN; Jake (Amber) Klein of Plymouth, MN and Jeremy (Clarisa) Klein of Puyallup, WA; grandchildren Evelyn, Jeanette (Jonathan), Catherine, Raymond, Savannah, Lillian, Natalie, Rebecca (Kooper), Nick, Emma, Kolby, Jaden, Tanner, Mitchell, Jack, Maddie, Aaron, Hailey and Mateo; five brothers and four sisters. She is preceded in death by her parents and daughter in-law, Leann.
