Llary Arlan Mangold

Llary Mangold passed away on Friday, December 14, 2018 at the Dougherty Hospice. His Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 in the Lutheran Church of Dell Rapids Chapel. Visitation begins at 2:00 p.m. on Monday at Kahler Funeral Home and the family will be present to greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Llary “Double L” Mangold was born on August 13, 1940 in Ventura, CA, the son of Lloyd and Stella Mangold.  He moved to Dell Rapids with his family in 1941.  Llary grew up and attended school in Dell Rapids and graduated from Dell Rapids High School in 1958.  He married Sharon Johnson in 1959. He attended Augustana College and graduated in 1963. Llary married Candace Begeman in 1981.

Llary held various sales positions throughout his career and retired from Johnson - Evinrude in 1998.  He received many sales awards during his career.

Llary enjoyed hunting and trap shooting. His kids and grandkids were his pride and joy and he loved to tease them. He loved collecting anything John Deere and guns.

Those left to share Llary’s memory are his two children, Shary (Randy) John and Rodney (Jodi) Mangold, both of Sioux Falls; his grandchildren, Ryan, Cody, Meaghan, and Ben; his sister, Llora Maertins of Lake Brant; and many special friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Hal.
