Raymond Jensen, 73, of Dell Rapids passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at his home surrounded by family. His funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 15, 2014 at the United Methodist Church, Dell Rapids. Interment will be in the Dell Rapids Cemetery. Visitation on Sunday, September 14, 2014 will begin at 2:00 p.m. with the family present from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Kahler Funeral Home.

Raymond Darrell Jensen was born on November 14, 1941 at Dell Rapids, SD, the son of Neil and Helen (Kasten) Jensen. He grew up on a farm near Dell Rapids and attended school in Dell Rapids. He graduated from Dell Rapids High School in 1958. He attended SDSU for two years.  He married Darla Partridge on January 14, 1961 in Sioux Falls. They made their home on a farm northeast of Dell Rapids. Ray farmed with his father. He started a trucking business in 1969. He trucked until 1982. He has farmed since that time.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church, served on the Dell Rapids Cemetery Board since 1998 and was active in several farming organizations. Raymond was known for his love of animals.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Darla of Dell Rapids; his sons, Scott (Lisa) Jensen of Dell Rapids and Jim (Tracy) Jensen of Trent; his daughter, Julie (Ken) Packard of Dell Rapids; his 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; his sister, Darlene (Wayne) Kluth of Seattle, WA and his special cousin, Brian (Char) Hamilton of Warwick, NY and 8 nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be directed to the McCrossan Boys Ranch.
