Rita Siemonsma

Rita Siemonsma, 70, of Dell Rapids, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at the Bethany Home in Brandon. Her Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 8, 2024 in St. Mary Catholic Church. Interment will be in the St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 7, 2024 from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. at Kahler-Brende Funeral Home. The Christian Wake Service will begin at 6:30 p.m. followed by a Rosary.

Rita Mary Siemonsma was born on April 28, 1954 in Dell Rapids, SD, the daughter of Gerard and Anastasia (Schwebach) Siemonsma. She grew up on farm near Dell Rapids and attended school at St. Mary. She graduated from St. Mary High School in 1972. After high school she attended Southeast Tech in Sioux Falls. She worked at various nursing homes, John Morrells and the Dell Rapids Public Schools until her retirement.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Altar Society. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking and canning. She always like to take care of others.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Gerald, her nephew, Chad and her niece, Paula.

Rita is survived by her daughter, Stacey (Scott) Butsch of Sioux Falls; her siblings, Lois (Tom) Flannery of IA, Tom (Becky) Siemonsma of Baltic, Ken (Marcia) Siemonsma of Dell Rapids, Judy (Roger) Fiegen of Dell Rapids, Mike (Karla) Siemonsma of Garretson and Ron (Jan) Siemonsma of Dell Rapids; her sister-in-law, Laura Struck of Edgerton, MN; her numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
