Terence "Terry" P Hansen

Terence "Terry" Hansen, 88, of Dell Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at the Dells Nursing and Rehab Center in Dell Rapids. His Memorial Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 15, 2024 in St. Mary Catholic Church. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 14, 2024 from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. at Kahler-Brende Funeral Home. The Christian Wake Service will begin at 6:30 p.m. followed by a Rosary. Inurnment with Military Rites will be in the St. Mary Cemetery.

Terence “Terry” P. Hansen was born on June 3, 1936 with his twin brother Tom. He grew up on a farm north of Dell Rapids where he was raised with his 16 siblings. He attended St. Mary School and graduated in 1954. After high school he enlisted in the US Army. When he was honorably discharged from the Army he returned to Dell Rapids and started farming. He married Alice Reuschlein on August 12, 1961 at St. Mary Catholic Church. The couple made their home on their farm just east of Dell Rapids. Terry continued to farm until his retirement in 2003. In retirement he enjoyed gardening, golfing, hunting, helping out area farmers and taking on certain projects around the farm, school and church.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Dell Rapids Legion Post, the Catholic Order of Foresters, the Dell Rapids Sportsmans Club. He taught numerous kids hunter’s safety. Terry loved hunting whether it was deer, pheasants, elk, antelope or geese.

Terry is preceded in death by his parents and 13 siblings.

He is survived by his wife, Alice of Dell Rapids; his sons, Patrick (Nancy) of Redwood Falls, MN, Robert (Connie) of Dell Rapids and Daniel (Michelle) of Winona, MN; his grandchildren, Jacob (Dani), Bailey (Griffin), Jed, Ryan, Chelsey (Liz), Rachel (Cody) and Lilly; his brother, David (Diane) Hansen of Dell Rapids; his sister, Erma Berg of Dell Rapids; his brother-in-law, David (Sue) Reuschlein of Lenexa, KS; sister-in-laws, Rose (Ron) Olson of Bella Vista, AR, and Barbaralee Hansen of Renner; and his numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
