We were sorry to hear of Verna's passing. How nice to see such a lovely photo of her smiling. I will always remember that she found a way to improve any visit with her smile. Whipkey, Bonrud, Waxdahl get togethers are great memories of my childhood.
I visited Verna about two years ago when I visited Rose Bernards, Dad's cousin, who still resides at Good Samaritan. It was fun to watch Rosie and Verna share memories of of their days with the phone company. Because both of their last names had changed, they had never made that connection until that day.
It brings a tear to my eye to think of how fast time flies. We have wonderful memories to share of our parents, don't we?
Love,
Del and Florence

Our sympathy to your family Marc. The first thing I remember about your Mother is her warm constant smile. She was a delightful lady and always made church what church should be. She will be missed by so many. May God continue to Bless your family.

I worked with Verna at the Dell Rapids Hospital during her years there. She was such a great nurses aid, always doing whatever would help her patients. She was always so happy, smiling and loving. Whenever I saw her for many years after she left, she always had time to find out how my life was. She was just a beautiful person, inside and out! May she enjoy her heavenly rewards and being reunited with her family. My sympathy to her entire family.

I will truly miss one of the sweetest most beautiful ladies I have had the pleasure of singing to in the past 14 years.
My dear sweet...Verna you will always hold a special place in my heart and mind. As I close my eyes I can see your smile, hear your sweet voice and see those pretty bows Patty put in your hair. The tender way she cared for you was priceless. You two reminded me so much of my mother and I. So I "thank you for coming into my life, for your kindness and love and let's not forget that sweet pecks on the face"! Like I said you will always hold a special place, both you and your family!
All my love Sandra Harmon...I'm honored to be singing for your funeral.

Rhoda texted us about Verna-we are so very sorry for your lost but she has left all with such wonderful memories. She has always had a smile on her face and I think she is still smiling getting to be with all those who have gone before her. Verna was a very special lady, mother, grandmother and dear friend. I will always cherish the memories of the times the Whipkeys, Waxdahls and Bonruds spent together! Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Glenn and Char
