Vicki Jorgensen was born on November 18, 1952 in Dell Rapids, SD, the daughter of Kenneth and Elaine (Riley) Jorgensen. She grew up and attended school in Dell Rapids, graduating from DRHS in 1971. She married her high school sweetheart, John Story on December 4, 1971. The couple made their home in Dell Rapids. Vicki worked at Terrace Manor Nursing Home in Dell Rapids before working for Good Samaritan in Sioux Falls. She then went to work for Wells Fargo in Sioux Falls, retiring in 2018.
Vicki loved flowers and gardening. She could identify almost any flower she came across. She was a selfless and giving person without expecting anything in return. She was content with what she had and always said how blessed she was to have her family and friends. Her greatest blessings called her Grandma. Her grandchildren were the apple of her eye. She rarely missed any of their activities and was their biggest cheerleader.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her grandparents and her in-laws.
She is survived by her husband, John Story of Dell Rapids; her daughters, Kari Ryan of Dell Rapids and Kelli (Matt) Steffes of Tea; her five grandchildren, Austin (Kirstyn) Ryan, Dylan Ryan, Eli Steffes, Logan Steffes and Emery Steffes; her sister, Cindy (Dean) Bullerman of Adrian, MN, Paul Jorgensen of Dell Rapids and Jeff “Buzz” Jorgensen of Dell Rapids, her extended family and many friends.
