Sharing stories with Peppy was truly a memory that will last forever in my mind. I would meet him at the Pool Hall or downtown somewhere and we'd talk for quite awhile. He was a kind and gentle soul, but a true friend to those he liked. May his family also have great memories to share until we meet him again.

To the whole Schmidt family: Please know how sorry I am for your loss. Melvin was a quiet, gentle soul who will be greatly missed. Even though I didn't know him well, I know what a great father he was because of how great his children turned out. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family. I wish I could be there to hug all of you! Much love, Michele & Rocky Cook

Our condolences to the entire family - we're so sorry for the loss of Peppy, although I'm glad you had many tears of laughter as well these past weeks! I have many fond memories as a kid growing up "next door" and remember Schmidty usually had a twinkle in his eye (except for when Raymond and Wayne were causing trouble). We pray that peace and comfort finds you. May your Soldier rest in peace.
